Your imaginations on a whiteboard - music and creativity

Here are the words you came up with when listening to the piece of music today in class. Imagine if this piece of music was from a film. What would the film be like? What images do you think you would see?

  1. I expected the film to be happy as we heard it the first lesson and thought it to be happy. But the day we saw it... it was quite sad! Sadder than 7D expected it to be! Sophia was even crying a bit!!! I enjoyed the film and I think my classmates did aswell. Oh and Mr Long!

  4. Well, this was samiyah's idea but I agree with her. Well, I thought that as her dad left her, she kept looking back to see if he was there. But, then she thought that before she dies of old age she should go and have a look to see what was around. She saw the boat her father was on, it was stranded and half covered with sand so she lay on top of the sand and went to sleep. She probably died in her sleep and went up to heaven to see her dad because her dad most probably died and went up to heaven too.

  7. Hiya, like most people I didn't get the ending of the film. I thought that her father had planned to take he on a boat ride and left without her and she spent her whole life trying to find him. I agreed with Imogen about the very end, she went and sat in the boat and died, but in her mind she found her father and became young again because that's what she wanted to do but she couldn't.
Also when we first heard the music it seemed to quite happy however the film was so sad and emotional :(

  10. at the beginning it was nice but when he went away it was sad and when she came back ever day it felt like he would be there. The bit that I don't understand is at the end when she gets younger as she runs to her father.-Faye

  11. Hi my fellow friends of the AWESOME 7D
I really liked watching this film and comparing it on my thoughts of what I thought it would be like but unlike most people after the group discussions I did understand the end(well at least I thought I did)because I thought that she was remembering the last time she hugged her dad because as she was remembering she got younger and this is what the video showed and I think Mr Long did a good job of teaching this!
Dead excited its my b day tomorrow and I cant wait
just going to watch the Great British Bake Off :p xx Anna

  13. When i heard the music i thought of it to be a happy film but it was actually epically sad!!!! i also noticed that every time she went to see if he was there she was getting older than the last time she went. When she was an old lady she went to see her fathers boat and she found it stranded and lay down in it and DIED (or fell asleep, not sure)but the good thing is she ended up meeting her dad dead or alive.(dreaming)

  14. I don't think it is a happy film, I thought it would be when I heard the music, very emotional I almost cried! it let me down in the aspect of the mood, but a lovely film, bit sad!
my additional thoughts at the end were definitely, "I want to hug my dad!"

  16. Hi guys,
I found the film extremely interesting and HIGHLY emotional. (It made me cry) :(
I could relate to the fact that she loved her father so much, and she never forgot him, and this was apparent as she visited that place every day!

I felt her character showed great strength as she continued to live her life.

  17. Finally, I agree with the others, the last part was confusing as she became younger, but it was a lovely memory. If I was in that situation, I would still have carried on searching for my father. :( xx
